Update 9.4 Patch Notes
Note: As this is being released a little extra earlier than normal, there is a chance some changes have been missed or have been further balanced.

- We have updated the PvP matchmaking to better take player level and team score into account when generating the opponent list
- The MVP menu now includes a button to switch between the MVP information and a full Victory Point breakdown for the battle.
- The top right corner of the result screen now shows your opponent’s name, level, and Guild; the top left corner shows your own name, level, and Guild.
- The game now remembers whether you last viewed the MVP information or the Victory
- Point breakdown, and returns you to that view the next time you open this menu.

- We have added a new Test Defenses button to the PvP options menu on the left hand side, letting you test your team in a Pre-Battle style setup similar to Explore.
- You can change your own team from the left-hand side, and change the defending team on the right, to test different matchups before entering live PvP.
- The defending team list now also includes your Guild Wars defense team options.

Guilds now share Room discovery in Tower of Doom!
When a Guild member defeats a Room, the Room’s reward information is reflected for the whole Guild, so members can see which Rooms their Guildmates have already completed

Players will see a footprint icon and the reward on any Room that has been explored by a guildmate.
Note: We also have a QOL to look at displaying the max floor level which has been explored.

We have added an in-game description for World Events, so players no longer need to check the event blog for the details.
A new Details button appears in the score section of the World Event Overview map. Tapping Details opens a popup with 4 sections:
- Details: How the event plays and its different phases.
- Scoring: All collectibles for the event, and how many points they’re worth.
- Battles: The available battles, along with the collectibles they drop and any modifiers on those collectibles.
- Notes: Any modifiers affecting battles, and what they mean.
- Modifiers affecting a battle are now shown with an icon in the Battles section.
- The Notes section is hidden if the World Event does not have a collectible modifier (such as scaling or random rewards).

As we add new Constellations to Astral Spire, we wanted it to be easier for players to review their current progress and jump directly to a Constellation.
The Astral Spire overview menu has been updated to include a list of all available Constellations, along with the current progress on nodes and the Capstone. By default, the boards are listed by progress and then alphabetically
Once a Constellation has been completed, it will move to the bottom of the list and the bar will turn gold (making it easy to tell completed and in-progress Constellations apart).

You can use a Constellation’s arrow button to jump directly to it; the existing gold arrow (left/right) navigation is unchanged elsewhere.

We have added a new Astral Spire Constellation Board, The Volcano, which will buff Broken Spire Troops
Capstone:
Steam Vent: reduces Enemy mana gained from Gems destroyed in explosions
Gold nodes:
- Wildfire: +15% chance to Burn the Enemy Team when battle starts.
- Intense Heat: Burning deals 5 damage per turn (instead of 3).

We have made some improvements across the Opening Tutorial, Dragon’s Pursuit, and early Kingdoms.
Starting Team
- We have made some changes to Eleanor and Prisoner Luther’s Spells
- Eleanor
- Mana Cost reduced from 9 to 8
- Her spell will now also grant Barrier to the first Ally.
- Prisoner Luther
- Mana Cost reduced from 11 to 9
- His spell will now deal damage to the first Enemy.
- Eleanor
- We have added a new common troop to the game – Cinder Hatchling Dragon, that is given to the player during Dragon’s Pursuit replacing the Priestess given previously.
- This new troop will be available from Chests after 9.4 releases..
Early Weapons
- We increased the base damage of the starting weapons by 2:
- Axe of Fire – Base damage increased from 3 to 5
- Sword of Ice – Base damage increased from 2 to 4
- Hammer of Nature – Base damage increased from 1 to 3
- Common rarity Weapons now unlock at Hero Level 7, instead of as part of Gem Mastery. These weapons are largely inferior to the current starter weapons, and we have noticed some confusion amongst new players, who were switching to them.
- However, we have also made some balance changes across the original Common, Rare, and Ultra-Rare Weapons that unlock via Gem Mastery, to make them more viable alternatives for new players should they wish to try them out.
- Knight’s Sword (Common)
- Mana Cost reduce from 5 to 3
- Base damage reduced from 3 to 5
- Spell now targets the strongest Enemy.
- Hunter’s Spell (Common)

- Wizard’s Wand
- Base damage increased from 5 to 6
- Crude Club
- Spell changed to explode a random Gem.
- Mana cost reduced from 4 to 3

- Mana cost increased from 4 to 5
- Base damage increased from 3 to 5
- Icy Glaive
- Spell changed to deal damage to the first 2 Enemies.

- Dust Tome
- Spell will now also give 1 Magic to all Allies

- Staff of the Magus
- Mana cost decreased from 9 to 8
- Knight’s Sword (Common)
- However, we have also made some balance changes across the original Common, Rare, and Ultra-Rare Weapons that unlock via Gem Mastery, to make them more viable alternatives for new players should they wish to try them out.
- We have adjusted some Gem Mastery unlock requirements for Weapons so they will not unlock until after Common Weapons become available, preventing them from interrupting the Dragon’s Pursuit story flow.

- We have changed it so that when a new Quest node unlocks, the game will now automatically select that node and open the Quest detail pop-out once the opening conversation finishes playing.
- We have reduced the length of the battle yell screen animation.
- We have sped up the display of victory rewards, as well as the XP and Shrine progress bars filling.
- After pressing the Complete button at the end of a Quest, the game now shows your rewards and then automatically continues to the end conversation..
- The Troop performing the Pre-Quest Battle Yell animation is now used as the featured Troop on the battle load screen.

- We have made improvements so the Guild Recommendation list no longer includes Guilds that haven’t had any activity in the past two Days.
- We have added a new “New Player Friendly” toggle to the Guild Management menu.
- Guilds with this option enabled are now prioritized in the Guild Recommendation list for new players or players under level 100.
- We have updated the visual style of the Guild Recruit menu to match last year’s changes to the Manage tab

- We have added the ability for players to select an unowned Troop, and see how that troop can be unlocked. This is similar to the existing info popup for unowned Weapons.

- In Guild Wars battles, we have added a countdown time at the start of the enemy turn, which will countdown until the opponent’s Guild Keep Guardian triggers. This will display every turn.

- We have updated the Pet Level-Up menu text to reflect the number of extra copies that can be used to upgrade the Pet (to clarify how many spare copies you have on top of the one kept for ownership).

- We have adjusted the skill points for Gnomes at lower levels to make them easier for lower-level players to defeat. This change will not affect their skill points at end-game.
- We have adjusted the number of popups that can appear when going to the World Map. This should help reduce how often popups and offers interrupt gameplay.
- This does not apply to contextual popups, such as the Mythic/Legendary Flash Offer that appears after a player earns a new Mythic or Legendary Troop.
- We added a new popup message when new players reach the pre-battle screen in the first Broken Spire quest battle to remind them that the new troop they just earned can be added to their team.
- We have added some new Heroic Gems for future campaigns.

There were some suggestions during the BETA phase that were out of scope, or we just didn’t have time to implement, but have been added to our ongoing QOL list to come back to in the future. Wanted to share them so everyone is aware that this feedback has been shared. Reminder: These have been added to the QOL list to be considered in future; there is no ETA unless stated.
- Displaying the max floor level that has been explored in Tower of Doom
- Show Troop finder text on owned troops as well
- Adding a coloured flare to the troops in the World Event information, displaying troop rarity
- Updating the Medal text in World Events to display the Medal information
- Adding a filter to the Astral Spire Navigation board
- Option to favorite specific Astral Spire boards so they are pinned to the top of the Navigation menu
- Having a menu in Astral Spire where you can view all abilities you have unlocked.
- Updating the Guild search screen to include a New Player Friendly specific search
- Also, New Player Friendly on the Guilds that have that toggled, in the Guild search results
- Updating the Guild search to increase the minimum level required range
- Guilds with New Player Friendly will not be able to have a level 1,000 minimum level requirement
- Feedback around the amount of VP offered to high-level players has been shared, ongoing, since those changes were made.

We have made some changes to some of the offers aimed at new players.
