Update 9.2 Patch Notes

For a detailed explainer on all the changes coming in 9.2, read through our Deep Dive blog. Please read through before asking any questions, as most are likely already answered within that blog or within the thread on our Community Forum.

In 9.2 we have streamlined the Kingdom levelling system. Removing Kingdom Power and Kingdom levels, and merging them into Kingdom Prestige!

With this new system, we have also removed Deeds and Writs.

To upgrade your Kingdom, you now complete Kingdom tasks to earn Kingdom XP or you can earn Crystals and Kingdom XP in various game modes!

We have updated the Kingdom menu, so you now can view each Kingdoms map. This is where you will continue to access Explore, Trial, Kingdom Information, Kingdom Tasks, etc.

More information on the changes to the UI will be available in our updated Game Guides.

One of the new menus in the updated Kingdom Menu is the Crystal Exchange screen. Where you spend Colored Crystals and Rainbow Crystals to level you selected Kingdom.

As Kingdoms gain Prestige Levels, they will unlocks bonuses similar to the Kingdom Level and Kingdom Power systems.

With each Kingdom Prestige level, you unlock and upgrade bonuses that can apply across Gems of War.

Also, earning Kingdom Prestige Levels also increases the Kingdom’s population, and in turn, your Global population.

Increasing Global Kingdom population is a requirement to continue increasing a Kingdom’s Prestige level.

As you can see in the screenshot above, there is an XP requirement bar and then underneath you can see the total population requirement for the next Prestige level.

If you cannot upgrade a Kingdom due to not meeting the population requirement, you will need to find a lower level Kingdom that does meet the requirement and upgrade it, to increase the global population.

More on this in our blog.

Kingdoms now earn XP from Kingdom Crystals.

There are 3 types of Kingdom Crystals

Kingdom Crystals/XP: These are unique to a Kingdom.

They can be earned from Kingdom Tasks, and Weekly Events.

Colored Kingdom Crystals: There are 6 Colored Kingdom Crystals (one for each Mana Color). You can only use a Colored Crystal on a Kingdom of matching color.

They can be earned from Campaigns, Daily Plunder Adventures, Weekly Events, Daily Deals and a new IAP. Each one is worth 100 XP.

Rainbow Kingdom Crystals: These Crystals can be used in any Kingdom and are worth the most Kingdom XP.

They can be earned from Campaign Elite Pass, and new IAPs. Each one is worth 600 XP.

Players can use their Colored and Rainbow Crystals within Kingdoms to exchange them for Kingdom XP.

Any earned Kingdom Crystals/XP is applied to it’s matching Kingdom automatically.

As Gems of War has always had, each Kingdom has a list of Kingdom Tasks that can be completed to earn Kingdom XP.

These have been updated in 9.2 to include new tasks, as well as removing the need to complete all 3 tasks before you can get new tasks!

Each task is worth 300 Kingdom XP.

Once a task completed, you can instantly collect your XP and get a new task.

There are 3 tracks of tasks, each with a different theme:

  • Troops: All Tasks are about collecting, leveling and traiting Troops.
  • Weapons & Pets: All Tasks are about collecting, leveling and upgrading Weapons and Pets.
  • Heroes + Miscellaneous: All Tasks are about Hero Classes, Trials, Faction Advancement, and special Troop Updates (like Elite Levels or Shiny Levels).

If you complete multiple Kingdom tasks and earn enough XP for your Kingdom to go up in Prestige, your Kingdom will automatically upgrade the next time you go into that Kingdom!

As long as you have also met the Global Kingdom Population requirement for that level.

There will be a little green icon on your Kingdom to let you know you have an upgrade available.

A full list of the Kingdom tasks have been shared in our blog.

Kingdom Conversion

When you login next after updating to 9.2 your Kingdoms will be converted into the new Prestige system.

Players will gain Kingdom XP for each Level or Power Level they have in a Kingdom.

This is NOT a simple case of Prestige Level = Level + Power Level, as that wouldn’t be fair, since higher Levels (especially between 15-20) are especially valuable.

For the exactly details of this conversion, please read our Deep Dive blog.

Deeds Retiring

As mentioned, with the changes to Kingdom Progress, we have retired Deeds and Writs.

As part of this, we will be exchanging players’ existing Writs, Colored Deeds, Imperial Deeds, and Books of Deeds for the new Crystals.

When players first log into the 9.2 Update, they will get a popup about the deed retirement, with a list of all exchanged rewards for their existing deeds.

Players will need to view the whole list in order to collect their rewards.

You can also view this list of rewards at any point by tapping on the Imperial Deed icon, on the World Map.

The Deed retirement popup will last for 7 days after first triggering it, after this these rewards will be mailed out if left uncollected.

  • Writ = 1 Rainbow Crystal for every 1,800 Writs (or part thereof).
  • Colored Deeds = 1 Colored Crystal for every 3 Colored Deeds of the same color (or part thereof).
  • Imperial Deeds = 1 Rainbow Crystal for every 4 Imperial Deeds (or part thereof).
  • Book of Colored Deeds = 16 Colored Crystals for every 1 Book of Colored Deeds of the same color (or part thereof).

This always rounds up, so if I have 2,600 Writs, I will receive 2 Rainbow Crystals.

With Deeds and Writs no longer existing, they have been removed from various reward pools and Soulforge recipes. For example;

  • Players can no longer craft any type of Deed from the Soulforge.
  • Daily Plunder Adventures have been updated with new Crystal Adventures, replacing the old Deed Adventures.
  • Campaign Rewards will now give Colored Crystals.
  • Journey Events now give Individual Crystals, Colored Crystals, and a Rainbow Crystal instead of the various types of Deeds.
  • Daily Deals have been updated to replace Deed Offers with new Crystal Offers.
  • We have removed Imperial Deeds, and the random Book of Deeds from the PvP shop.

Again, for a full list of everywhere they have been removed, please check out the blog.

These are specific to 9.2 changes, and not a list of general known issues.
